This book is so hard to rate because it was absolutely adorable but absolutely offensive to a certain community.
It was written well, Bahni Turpin did a marvelous job narrating as usual, and the characters were loving and relatable to an extent. It’s a cute “boy-changed-my-whole-world” book.
But what was that ending? I don’t even have a bubble-type situations, and I was insulted for my friends who do have that as a living situation. I wish the book was based more on the PTSD that is actually the whole point of the book and not the allergic-to-everything.
You can see why this book is very offensive to those with the actual medical problem here. Cait has a similar situation, and I feel it is better to hear the problems with this book from someone who can relate to the story itself.
